For sharing research findings on specific aspects of “System of Rice Intensification” by different researchers/stakeholders and to exchange views among them, which will focus on how best to meet the identified demand for research and capacity development, Livolink Foundation is organizing the national conference on SRI Research from 12-13 August 2014 in Bhubaneswar with support from Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Allied Trusts, Mumbai.
The major objectives of the conference are:
÷ To provide a common platform for researchers to deliver and discuss on scope of research on System of Rice Intensification in India
÷ To identify emerging research demand on various techno-social issues related to SRI as expressed by various stakeholders and to match it with the available resources from the programme
÷ To consolidate findings and achievements made so far through adaptive research by experienced organizations like Research Institutions, State Agricultural Universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, resource NGOs and CBOs
÷ To identify and discuss constraints and opportunities based on practical experiences, for further expansion of SRI and its research in India
÷ To invite proposals on the identified research areas on System of Rice Intensification under the SDTT supported SRI programme across the country
